About Us
Gemc Media Group was formed in 2017 when Co- Founders Steve Charles approached Froebel McSimon with the vision of hosting a gospel boat ride to promote Caribbean Gospel music in the USA and around the world. The mission is to showcase all Caribbean gospel ministers. This vision was birthed on Saturday, June 30th 2018, when Gemc Media Group hosted its first boat ride (Praise on Water 2K18) aboard the Golden Sunshine. Featured artistes included, Sherwin Gardner, Emrand Henry, Sean Daniel and Rev. Nicole Ballosingh-Holder with DJ Blessment from Trinidad & Tobago’s Radio Station W107.1. Due to the positive response from those who attended, we were inspired to host Praise on Water 2K19 on July 27th, 2019 onboard a larger vessel The Liberty Belle.
The featured artistes included Nicole Ballosingh-Holder, Sean Daniel, Positive and DJ Blessment, the MC’s included the late W107.1, Program Director Jamie Thomas and Radio Announcer/Music Minister Wendell Bompart. Much thanks to W107.1FM The Word, for promoting Praise on Water 2K19, most of the attendees encompassed ardent listeners of this radio station.

In 2020, during the pandemic we agreed to go virtual, exposing more Gospel Ministers to the Praise On Water experience. These Ministers included for the first time, Michelle Sylvester, Blessed Messenger and Dwayne Fyah, with Positive, Sean Daniel, and Emrand Henry. The MC’s for this virtual boat ride featured the late Jamie Thomas and DJ Blessment. The stream was broadcasted from two locations, Brooklyn, New York and Action 1 Studios in Trinidad and Tobago which was a success. During the event, the late Jamie Thomas interviewed Nicole Ballosingh-Holder who shared her views and gave a history of the evolvement of Caribbean gospel music.
In 2021, we decided against hosting any boat ride due to nationwide concern of the Covid-19 virus. Fast forward to 2022, Gemc Media Group decided to be creative and plan a midnight Praise on Water 2K22 “Midnight Glow”. Those who attended felt it was a unique experience with artistes, Positive, Michelle Sylvester, Eddie Neblett with DJ Blessment and DJ Mark Exclusive on the one’s and two’s. Attendees were energized by the music, including the line dances and engaged in a lip-syncing competition.
Gemc Media Group will like to honor and give thanks to our heavenly Father for broadening our vision to share the gospel through another avenue to win souls for Christ and we can Praise God cruising on Water. Our team will like to thank the Pastors and their congregants who have supported us from the inception. Thank you to all our valuable supporters we have formed relationships with, we appreciate your financial contributions and fervent prayers.

In closing, we must salute W107.1FM, The Word, the #1 Christian gospel radio station in Trinidad and Tobago. You have played an integral role informing and assisting us in promoting our annual boat ride on the airwaves. The pioneer of this station the late Jamie Thomas, joined us in Praise on Water 2K19 and virtually in 2K20, he showed his enthusiasm when he participated in both events. We continue to miss you Jamie. The current Program Director Junior Lett, the Staff and the Word nation family, you will always be regarded as our second family. Our future goals will include clothes drive and food distribution both locally and internationally.
